Presets
When modifying product/folders, it can be somewhat slow to find a specific attribute if the catalogue is sufficiently large with hundreds of different ones choose from. A preset list alleviates this by grouping several attributes together into a named collection. Instead of forcing the admin user to browse a list of all attributes available on the system, they can instead browse a much smaller list by selecting a relevant preset.
Attributes can be added to a preset from the attribute configuration page. Simply select the preset you wish to modify from the drop-down, or add a new one. Then check/uncheck the attributes you wish to include in the preset as appropriate.
Note that presets are system-wide. Any change you make to a preset will immediately be usable by every other admin user on the system, there is no need to save any changes to make them take effect.
In addition to the system presets, each admin user has their own "working set" which contains any attributes that have been created during their admin session, but can also be modified in the same way if desired. Once a user logs out of the administrator, their working set will be emptied, so if persistence of the set is required a real system preset should be used.
