Drag-and-drop techniques
Several features of the catalogue administrator either require or are improved by making use of drag-and-drop. In all these cases, entries can only be dragged one at a time.
Moving folders and products
Once a catalogue entry has been created, it can easily be moved around within a hierarchy by dragging it from its original location to a new one. Remember that folders can only contain subfolders or products, and not both. Also, the root node of any hierarchy cannot be manipulated in this manner.
Sorting list attributes
When you add a value to a string or node list attribute, it is always appended to the list. Drag-and-drop can be used to manipulate one of these lists into the desired order.
Adding to node list attributes
In addition to using the appropriate form to add a new folder or product to an node relationship, you can simply drag it from anywhere in your admin window into the list.
This means you can use the search or history features to find a set of products, and then add them one by one by dragging them into the desired location within the node list. Note that it is probably a good idea to lock the catalogue navigation by checking the "Prevent tree navigation from updating this display" option while doing this.
